Learn it Prism with an n-sided base: n + 2 faces, 3n edges, 2n vertices. Pyramid with an n-sided base: n + 1 faces, 2n edges, n + 1 vertices.
Example: Find the faces, edges and vertices of a hexagonal prism.
- The base has 6 sides, so n = 6.
- Faces: 6 + 2 = 8. Edges: 3 × 6 = 18. Vertices: 2 × 6 = 12.
- Check with Euler's rule: $8 + 12 - 18 = 2$ ✓.
