Add and subtract integers
Questions at easy, medium and hard levels. Pick a level and get a fresh set every time, with instant feedback.
Learn it Same signs: add the sizes and keep the sign. Different signs: subtract the sizes and use the sign of the larger size. To subtract, add the opposite.
Example: Find $-8 + 5$ and $3 - (-6)$.
- $-8 + 5$: different signs, $8 - 5 = 3$, the larger size is 8 (negative) → −3.
- $3 - (-6)$ = $3 + 6$ (subtracting a negative is adding) → 9.
