Learn it Tenths and hundredths can be written as fractions or decimals. To change a fraction to a decimal, make the denominator 10 or 100.

Example: Write $\frac{3}{4}$ as a decimal.

  1. Find a fraction equal to $\frac{3}{4}$ with denominator 100: multiply top and bottom by 25.
  2. $\frac{3}{4} = \frac{75}{100}$.
  3. 75 hundredths = 0.75.
