Example: Is $2 + 3 \times 4$ equal to 20 or 14?
- Multiply first: $3 \times 4 = 12$, then $2 + 12 = 14$.
- To get 20 you would need brackets: $(2 + 3) \times 4 = 20$.
- So $2 + 3 \times 4 = $ 14.
