Learn it In alphametics each letter is a digit. Write numbers in expanded form (AB = 10A + B) to turn the puzzle into equations.

Example: AB + BA = 154 and A − B = 4. Find AB.

  1. $(10A + B) + (10B + A) = 11(A + B) = 154$, so $A + B = 14$.
  2. With $A - B = 4$: $A = 9$, $B = 5$.
  3. AB = 95. Check: $95 + 59 = 154$ ✓.
