Learn it The midpoint is the average of the coordinates: $M = \left(\frac{x_1 + x_2}{2}, \frac{y_1 + y_2}{2}\right)$.
Example: Find the midpoint of (−3, 7) and (5, −1).
- x: $(-3 + 5) \div 2 = 1$.
- y: $(7 + (-1)) \div 2 = 3$.
