Speed, distance and time
Questions at easy, medium and hard levels. Pick a level and get a fresh set every time, with instant feedback.
Learn it Distance = speed × time, speed = distance ÷ time, time = distance ÷ speed. Change minutes to hours (÷ 60) and km/h to m/s (÷ 3.6). Moving towards each other: add the speeds. Catching up: subtract them.
Example: Two cyclists 90 km apart ride towards each other at 20 km/h and 25 km/h. When do they meet?
- They close the gap at $20 + 25 = 45$ km/h.
- Time $= 90 \div 45 = 2$ hours.
- They meet after 2 hours (the first rides 40 km, the second 50 km).
