Questions at easy, medium and hard levels. Pick a level and get a fresh set every time, with instant feedback.

Learn it In real situations the slope is a rate (per hour, per km) and the intercept is a starting value (a fee). Set two equations equal to find when two plans cost the same.

Example: Plan A: $\$20$ + $\$5$/hour. Plan B: $\$8$/hour. When are they equal?

  1. $20 + 5h = 8h$.
  2. $20 = 3h$, so $h \approx 6.7$ hours.
  3. Before that B is cheaper; after it A is cheaper.
