Learn it Square-root the numerator and denominator separately. For decimals, use the matching whole number: $\sqrt{0.49} = 0.7$ because $7 \times 7 = 49$.
Example: Find $\sqrt{\frac{81}{196}}$ and $\sqrt{1.44}$.
- $\sqrt{81} = 9$ and $\sqrt{196} = 14$, so $\frac{9}{14}$.
- $12 \times 12 = 144$, so $\sqrt{1.44} = 1.2$.
