Add and subtract radicals

Questions at easy, medium and hard levels. Pick a level and get a fresh set every time, with instant feedback.

Learn it You can only add or subtract like radicals (the same number under the root), just like $3x + 5x = 8x$. Simplify every radical first.

Example: $\sqrt{12} + \sqrt{27} - \sqrt{75}$

  1. $\sqrt{12} = 2\sqrt{3}$, $\sqrt{27} = 3\sqrt{3}$, $\sqrt{75} = 5\sqrt{3}$.
  2. Now they are like radicals: $2 + 3 - 5 = 0$.
  3. Answer: $0$.
