Learn it Geometry facts give you equations: perimeters, angle sums and Pythagoras. Write the equation, solve it, then answer the question that was asked (it is often not x itself).
Example: An isosceles right triangle has a hypotenuse of 10 cm. Find its area.
- Legs are equal: $a^2 + a^2 = 100$, so $a^2 = 50$.
- Area $= \frac{1}{2}a^2 = \frac{1}{2}(50) = 25$ cm².
