Learn it Each shape stands for a number. The same shape always has the same value. Start with an equation that has only one kind of shape, work out that shape, then put its value into the other equation.

Example: ▲ + ▲ = 14 and ▲ + ● = 20. Find ●.

▲ + ▲ = 14, so ▲ = 7.
7 + ● = 20, so ● = 13.
Check: 7 + 7 = 14 ✓ and 7 + 13 = 20 ✓
