Learn it Prism and cylinder: V = base area × height. Pyramid and cone: V = ⅓ × base area × height. Sphere: $V = \frac{4}{3}\pi r^3$. Surface area = the total area of all the faces.
Example: Cylinder, radius 3 cm, height 10 cm: surface area?
- Two circles: $2\pi r^2 = 2\pi(9) \approx 56.5$.
- The curved side: $2\pi r h = 2\pi(3)(10) \approx 188.5$.
- Total ≈ 245.0 cm².
