x- and y-intercepts and the intercept form
Questions at easy, medium and hard levels. Pick a level and get a fresh set every time, with instant feedback.
Learn it To find the x-intercept, set y = 0. To find the y-intercept, set x = 0. The intercept form $\frac{x}{a} + \frac{y}{b} = 1$ shows both: (a, 0) and (0, b).
Example: Intercepts of $3x + 4y = 24$?
- y = 0: $3x = 24$, x = 8.
- x = 0: $4y = 24$, y = 6.
- Intercept form: $\frac{x}{8} + \frac{y}{6} = 1$.
