Learn it Percent change = change ÷ original × 100. Successive changes multiply: a 20% rise then a 20% fall is ×1.2 × 0.8 = ×0.96, a 4% fall overall.
Example: A price rises from $\$80$ to $\$92$.
- Change = 92 − 80 = 12.
- $12 \div 80 = 0.15$.
- That is a 15% increase.
