Learn it Learn the exact values from two triangles: 45-45-90 with sides 1, 1, √2, and 30-60-90 with sides 1, √3, 2. Also sin 0° = 0, cos 0° = 1, sin 90° = 1, cos 90° = 0.
Example: Find sin 30°, cos 30° and tan 30°.
- In the 30-60-90 triangle, opposite 30° is 1, adjacent is √3, hypotenuse is 2.
- $\sin 30^\circ = \frac{1}{2}$, $\cos 30^\circ = \frac{\sqrt{3}}{2}$.
- $\tan 30^\circ = \frac{1}{\sqrt{3}}$.
